Whilst Emersons Green Primary may be one of the smaller schools in the area, we believe that our learners are mighty!
Our school mission is to forge mighty futures.
We define the four characteristics of being a mighty learner as follows:
- Pursuing excellence. We believe that children should aim to do their very best in all aspects of learning and school life. They should strive to improve each and every day.
- Building bravery. It is essential that children learn how to cope with setbacks, difficulties and things which may challenge them. We therefore teach children that being brave is an essential characteristic of a mighty learner.
- Championing Uniqueness. Our school is inclusive and celebrates the richness that difference and diversity brings to our school. As a result of our Resource Base for children with Physical Disabilities, children learn that some children’s physical abilities may be different to their own.
- Embracing practice and effort. There is no short-cut to mighty learning. At Emersons Green, we understand that the only way we improve is by regular practice. We also understand that learning requires effort and we don’t shy away from this.
