Our Resource Base is a specialist provision designed to support children with Visual Impairments and/or Physical Disabilities. Its primary role is to ensure full inclusion in mainstream classes, facilitating a supportive and accessible learning environment.
Our Team and Support:
Resource Base Teacher: Available three days a week, our teacher is a Qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (QTVI).
- SENCo and Deputy Head: Provides out-of-class support and oversees inclusion.
- Specialist HLTAs: Work directly in each class to support pupils’ needs.
- Teaching Assistants: All are trained in manual handling, and additional training is undertaken as needed to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
- Specialist services: We work alongside specialist speech and language and physiotherapist teams to ensure all pupils individual needs are met.
Inclusion and Accessibility
Our team collaborates closely with class teachers to ensure the curriculum is accessible. We focus on ensuring pupils’ are fully included into all aspects of school life. Every child receives a tailored approach to meet the individual needs of each pupil.
