At Emersons Green we teach Spanish and through consistent practice and effort, pupils build their confidence in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish. We encourage effort and resilience, knowing that language learning requires perseverance and regular use to make progress.
Each lesson activates prior knowledge, introduces new vocabulary and structures, and allows time for children to rehearse through songs, games, conversations, and written activities. Modelling and scaffolded support help pupils grow in confidence before moving towards independent use of language. Grammar and phonics are taught in context to strengthen understanding and fluency.
We pursue excellence by setting high expectations for all learners. Children are encouraged to take pride in their communication skills, strive for accuracy, and reflect on their progress.
