Parent, Teacher and Friends Association

Emersons Green Primary School Parent, Teacher and Friends Association

The primary aim of the PTFA is to hold events where parents and children can feel part of the school community and get to know each other on a social level. Over the past few years the PTFA have raised over £11,000 annually funding Y6 leavers t-shirts, Reception bookbags, flowers for the first day of school and someone special.  We have also purchased new reading books, playground equipment and the redevelopment of the forest school area. It was decided that the school will raise funds long term to support the schools wish for a history timeline which will span the corridor and support children’s learning.  The PTFA will support individual classes with an annual pledge to meet the ‘extras’ teachers would like to enhance the children’s learning experiences.

Easyfundraising. You can raise funds every time you shop by using the Easyfundraising website. The PTFA will receive a fundraising donation from each shop.

Can you help?

Lots of parents, grandparents, carers and friends have helped the PTFA over the past couple of years. Some examples of how people have helped are;

  • Printing banners
  • Creating advertising posters
  • Providing business vouchers for prizes
  • Bagging up sweets!

If you have any skills or own / work for a company that can help to make our events even more special please get in touch!

Help out at events – there are lots of parents, grandparents, uncles, aunties, big brothers and sisters who get involved. While not everyone feels able to devote hours of their time throughout the year they are nonetheless willing to man a stall at the Summer Fair, help in the kitchen at events, face paint at Mangotsfield Festival or tie bunches of daffodils. Every little bit helps!

Donate – we do like to ask for donations to help stock stalls and raffles at our events – we always ask people to only give what they feel able to but are always bowled over by peoples’ generosity – from bottles of wine to second hand books – our families always seem to have something to give us.

Your time and skills – this year we have had parents, friends and neighbours who have made posters and banners, printed programs, put up Christmas lights, provided BBQ food at cost price, given vouchers for raffle prizes, run stalls at events, helped to set up and clear up at events and too many other ways to mention!
