After School Clubs
Here at Emersons Green Primary we consider school clubs a great way for children to continue to Forge their Mighty Future by either following a personal passion or trying out new experiences with a view to finding their personal passion.
Our clubs offer has grown exponentially over the past 3 years and we now offer a range of activities across the year. We are proud to say 93% of our children attended a club for at least one term during the academic year 2024-25. Our clubs generally run until 4pm and are led, voluntarily, by our staff. These clubs are mostly free to attend; where there is a charge it is minimal and is solely to cover the cost of materials used. For safety reasons some clubs have a maximum number of attendees so early sign up is essential, a Google Form is included within the second to last newsletter of each term for this.
This year our children have opportunities to garden and cook, craft and sing, construct, play board games and instruments, compete in a range of sports and perform at musical theatre and LOTS of other things too.
I would like to personally thank those parents who have been in touch to offer their assistance with enhancing our clubs offer and are prepared to give up some of their own time to help. Please look out for the clubs offer list and sign up routes.
Please note: If your child needs 1:1 support at an Extra Curricular Club, we will endeavour to support with this.
Sports Clubs
Art and Craft Club
At Craft Club, the children have worked on a range of projects using drawing, painting, 3D, textile and printing skills. The finished pieces of work from We have celebrated festivals and art and crafts from around the world. The aims are to introduce children to new skills; give them opportunities to incorporate their own ideas and provide the starting points for children to develop projects further outside of school.
Gardening and Nature Club
We are busy developing our grounds and learning about nature at gardening club. We entered a competition last year and won £1000 of garden centre vouchers so we have made plans for developing a dedicated gardening space. We bought a poly tunnel and have grown plants from seeds that we have then planted in raised beds on the playground so everyone can enjoy their blooms and harvests. At gardening club we enjoy learning about nature and supporting the different animal habitats; we have built bug hotels, made and installed bird boxes and every year take part in the RSPB Big Bird Watch.
